\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong>The South African Geographical Journal considers publication of original material on all aspects of geography, both physical and human, with particular relevance to southern Africa.\u00a0 Material published includes peer-reviewed research papers, review articles on specific topics of geographical interest and short research notes, and book reviews.\u00a0 The major requirement for publication is the significance and value of the work for the development for geography and geographers.\u00a0 Corresponding authors can receive a complimentary copy of the issue in which their article appears as well as 50 e-prints.<\/p>\n Full-length articles should not normally exceed 7 500 words in length.\u00a0 Manuscripts should be typed double-spaced with wide margins, and must be submitted in triplicate.\u00a0 The title, the author\u2019s name(s) and affiliation(s) should appear on a separate sheet.<\/p>\n Original photographic positives of all figures, together with photocopies of figures to accompany the two reviewer copies of the text, must accompany all submissions.\u00a0 All figures should be sized to fit either a double or single column of the Journal when reproduced full-size, or reduced by a factor or two.\u00a0 Computer drawn graphics are acceptable only if they are of comparable quality of those produced conventionally; linework must be clear and readily reproducible, and computer characters should be replaced with typeset lettering.\u00a0 Figures will be reviewed by our Cartographic Advisor, and those not meeting our standards will be returned for revision. Figure captions should not accompany the figures, but be typed on a separate sheet.<\/p>\n Tables should be included at the appropriate point in the text.<\/p>\n Incorrectly referenced papers will be returned to the authors for correction.<\/p>\n Submissions must be accompanied by an indication of the word length, and by a statement that the paper has not been and will not be submitted concurrently for publication elsewhere.<\/p>\n Detailed instructions and a Guide for Authors are obtainable from the Editor\u00a0or can be found on the journal\u2019s Instructions for Authors\u00a0webpage<\/a><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Copyright of papers published in the Journal will be vested in the Society.\u00a0\u00a0South African Geographical Journal<\/em>\u00a0now uses ScholarOne Manuscripts (previously Manuscript Central) to peer review manuscript submissions.
